DACS Expose Exhibition
Front Window Installation
The non-profit group, Designers Against Child Slavery, created and headed up by John Mark Herskind came up with the idea for an art exhibition to raise funds and awareness about Child Sex Trafficking and the shocking facts. I was asked by John to create an installation in the open front windows of the venue for his group's Exposé Exhibition at 701 Whaley Street in Columbia, South Carolina. I came up with the concept of blocking off the windows, denying the visitors the gorgeous view creating a more melancholic atmosphere. I then cut holes in rolled plastic, which people peeked through from the street. Behind some holes were shocking statistics about Child Slavery, while others were views to the inside gallery. This voyeuristic look encouraged passers-by to come inside and do something to help the cause, instead of figuratively and literally looking in from the outside.
